Beginning Tuesday, January 5, 2010, thru Thursday, January 14, 2010, the City of Georgetown Public Works Department will be picking up Christmas trees. All County Residents need to bring their trees in by January 14, 2010. The Christmas trees will be mulched and available for the public to pick up on Saturday, January 16, 2010. You can pick up the mulch at the "Marshall Field Softball Park", from 7:00 a.m. until noon on that day.

The City of Georgetown will be hosting an informational meeting concerning the Cleanup of the former Empire Pencil Factory property, funded by a grant from the US EPA under the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The meeting will be held at City Hall, 100 N. Court St. on November 23, 2009 at 5:30 P.M. Project Documents are available for public review at the City Engineer’s office.

The City Council will have a special called meeting on September 10, 2009 at 6:00pm. The meeting is a hearing on tax increment financing, develpment plan for the Georgetown events and the Commerce Center Development area. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
