YouTube and PBS have formed a partnership to launch an initiative called “Video Your Vote.” This initiative encourages voters, particularly new voters, to document their voting experiences when they head to the polls this year. Although the partners of this initiative are well-intentioned, in Kentucky, state law forbids the use of recording equipment at the polls. Let our office be the first to encourage your participation in this effort, but please do so once you have left the voting area.

Recording equipment intimidates voters and threatens the basic tenant of privacy in our elections. So, do your part to participate in this exciting initiative, but do so within the confines of the law and away from the polling location.
